Planning and Setting Goals

Dear Students

Are you having a good weekend? So am I – because I am thinking about you. I have another interesting post for you.

It is about setting goals for a successful life and should be inspiring for you – with time to think over your goals this weekend. In fact, from my own experience, I agree with what they are saying on this site.

Click on 5 Facts About Goal Setting and read all the details carefully.  Don’t miss out the video at the bottom where Michael Phelps, the Olympic Champion Swimmer talks about how he write down his goals in order to remember them.

I am glad to see that more of you are Following me, reading my posts and Commenting on them. Likes are welcome – but Comments are much better. I read every Comment before I approve it, and if it is really interesting, I respond to it. You should respond to each other’s comments and begin a dialogue. It is an excellent opportunity for improving your communication skills.

  7. Ma’am, Thank you Very much for the interesting details on setting goals.I have tried setting goals earlier too but it seems difficult to stick to it.This time I am going to try hard.

    • Akshath, like you, I too set many goals and failed often. These days, I try to set one small specific goal at a time, and try to make it a habit to do as planned. Another thing, every time I fail, I come back and try again within a day or two. I never give up on a good goal.

  8. Mam, It is very interesting article and worth reading. My personal experience syas….it works if we religiously follow these steps. Initiatially it looks like challenge for us to get into new change but then later on it becomes habbit.

    • once i had heard Mr. Narendra Modi, before 3-4 years, telling about the priorities of the task: there are four kind of task:
      most important, need urgent attentation
most important but does not require urgent action
less important but need urgent action
less important and not require any urgent action

and the fifth one : the task which are not productive but occupy and misorganise our priority llist

on monday morning, i usually go through the priority list of last week, which tasks are completed, which are pending, which need reminder to the authority or some other agency …. and so on
and then make a priority list for this week.

and hence plan the activity for the week, which , apart from the daily routein,
PLANNING: AND IMPLEMENTATIN, only planning is not sufficient, strict implementation towards the goal set, is very important.

DR RAKESH SINHA, one of the eminant motivator, always speak, while setting goals, you should stretch your self a little. every time you do a little extra, will evantually increase your stamina or potential. if you attempt the extraordinary stretching at a stat will loose your stamina and eventually lead to failure of achievement of goal, so goal setting is utmost important.

      • mam, a personal conversation and a tribute to my teacher MR. K. D. SHETH, he always use to say ask your self weather you have done your best or not. if your heart says, yes i have done my best than no matter what the result is. but if your heart says, no i could have done better, than it should be, next time.
MR. DASTUR, ( i don’ remember the name} in a column in sandesh ( when i was a kid) , says, ask your self
        aa, ba, ka, { ame bantu karyu}
and if the ans is ta ba ka { tame bantu karyu} than you will definitely progress. but in this, please do not cheat, yourself. YOU MUST GIVE TRUE ANSWER TO YOUR SELF.

AND BECAUSE OF THE INSPIRATION FROM THE TEACHERS ONLY THAT WE COULD PROGRESS THIS MUCH.
