Dear Students
Cartoonist Pran Kumar Sharma, the creator of Chacha Chowdhury died in 2014 on this date.
Alas! With him, an entire family passed away – Shrimatiji, Pinki, Billoo, Raman and Channi Chachi are no more. Pran Kumar Sharma and the Chowdhury family and friends! You lived a long and fruitful life, enriching the lives of all who came into your ambit.
Herge, the Belgian creator of The Adventures of Tintin died in 1983.
When I was a student at school, I read Chacha Chowdhury, Tintin and Asterix comics with great pleasure, and so do most of you, and so did many of your parents. That is a rare link of common pleasure spanning two generations.
I wish, some of my talented student artists would begin their own comic series! Does the idea appeal to anyone?
It would be a true tribute to the famous cartoonists who have lived and died and it would help your own creative talents to flower.

Very sad indeed to know that the creator of my favorite comics is no more..yes our generation was blessed to have such reading pleasures..feel quite sad for the current generation who only lives on iPads and computers..even doing homework on computers..pity isn’t it..they should read books made from papers who will advice them?
Dear Mr. Chauhan
This is the second time you are moaning about HW on the Internet. But we can only help you solve your problem if you are willing and ready. The Internet exists and is here to stay. It is therefore, our duty to teach the future generation how to use it in positive ways, and not to close our eyes to reality. Secondly, please take time to visit our wonderful library with ‘paper books’ which our children also read. As an avid reader myself, let me assure you that we readers do and will read – both paper books and ebooks. The Internet has increased the choice and scope of serious reading materials in all branches of knowledge as well as in fiction. School is using the Internet to encourage your ward to read more and become a discerning reader.
Good Reply! Please get this country out of its backwardness. Our children are capable, it is the parents who are pulling them back into antiquity.
respected mam,
im sorry if i have said anything wrong, no hard feelings. just for the debate that internet or computers are not such things that can only be learned from homeworks from primery school level, the best examples are you, me and so many other people who first touched the computer when they were in 12th or college, still we dont have problems using it.
yes you can give time to time projects in which internet and computers do need, thus students will be in contact with the computers and everyday homework on computers or blogs can be eliminated. just a suggestion..

I’m sad to hear such a shocking news that Pran Kumar Sharma has passed away with his family. I love the comics of Chacha Chowdhury and Sabu the Giant.
Arnav, by ‘family’ I meant the fictional family of Chacha Chowdhury. Now that the cartoonist is dead, all his characters are also finished.
Respected Mam,
I meant to say the same.
